Whirlpool Oven Repair Tips
There is one whirlpool oven I don't see much anymore, and it's a little older. Most modern ovens have an ignitor, or glow bar, to ignite the gas burner. The Whirlpool gas oven I'm talking about has an ignition ignitor or electrode. You might hear it click 2 times before the pilot lights, and the sensor signals the main burner to ignite. So that was a quick summary of the oven I'm talking about. The tip I'm explaining here today is: if this is your oven ignition system, before placing a service call for your Whirlpool oven, open the bottom broiler pan drawer. Is it full to the top with pans or cookie sheets? Take them out and try your oven again. Did it work this time? The wire that powers the oven electrode is touching a pan, preventing a complete circuit. If it fell off, put it back on. I've seen this 3 times over the years.
