A sharp label photograph may be easier than typing a long number. Do not move, disconnect, unstack, open, or reach behind equipment merely to take it.

Safe Places to Check First

Kenmore Refrigerator

Look inside an accessible fresh-food compartment along the side wall, upper or lower interior area, or near a crisper. Leave the kick plate in place and do not pull the refrigerator forward for this page.

Kenmore Washer

Check beneath an open top-load lid or along the door opening of a front-loading washer. Leave rear labels alone when reaching them would require moving the washer.

Kenmore Dryer

Inspect the visible door opening. Leave the control area closed and do not disturb gas or electrical connections to reach another label

Kenmore Oven

When the appliance is cool, check the visible frame around the open oven door. Do not remove drawers, panels, or reposition a gas appliance to search farther.

Kenmore's manual search requires at least 11 model characters and omits special characters from the search entry. Keep the original tag photograph even if the website requires a different format.

What the Identification Changes

The full model number points to the correct manual, diagrams, specifications, and parts research. Variation or revision characters may distinguish two look-alike machines. A serial can add production information but cannot substitute for the model.

Some Kenmore numbers begin with a three-digit code associated with a manufacturing platform. That code is one clue, but not enough on its own to select a component, accept the job, or diagnose the failure.

If the tag is damaged or unreadable, send a well-lit image and whatever characters remain. We can discuss the request, but missing identification may prevent reliable documentation or component research.

When the Visit Is Confirmed

The $89 charge is for travel to the Minneapolis service address and diagnosis of the reported condition. It does not prepay a repair.

When Work Is Proposed

I explain the proposed work and its separate price before beginning it. My first parts choice is the exact component from the original manufacturer. When the exact item is unavailable, I disclose any compatible aftermarket replacement before installation.

When the Job Is Completed

Pay after the service is completed by card, cash, or check. Travel adds no line item. If I accept an evening, Saturday, Sunday, or holiday appointment, there is no timing premium.

If the component I fit fails within a year, I provide its replacement and repeat the installation labor. Trouble elsewhere in the appliance is a separate repair.

Independent Repair and Official Kenmore Resources

Larry provides this local service independently. It is separate from Sears Home Services, which identifies itself as the nationally authorized Kenmore provider. Manufacturer-warranty work and official authorization questions belong with Sears or Kenmore Customer Care.

Kenmore Model and Service Questions

Is the Serial Number Enough by Itself?

Usually not. The model identifies the design and expected configuration; the serial can add production information. Send both when they are available.

Do the First Three Digits Identify the Manufacturer?

They may indicate a manufacturing platform on many Kenmore appliances, but I do not use a prefix alone to select a part or promise service. The complete model, version information, appliance condition, and diagnosis still matter.

What If the Model Label Cannot Be Read?

Send a well-lit photograph and any characters you can distinguish safely. Do not disassemble or pull out the appliance. An unreadable label may limit manual, diagram, or component confirmation.

Can You Confirm My Kenmore Request Before Scheduling?

I confirm requests individually by category, full identification, installation, reported problem, and service address. The Kenmore label by itself cannot confirm acceptance.

Why Not Use the Number Printed on the Front or in an Old Manual?

That may be a series or base number rather than the complete model variation. Prefer the appliance tag whenever it's accessible without risk.

Where Should I Go for Possible Manufacturer-Warranty Coverage?

Check Kenmore Customer Care or Sears Home Services before authorizing independent work. Those providers handle warranty eligibility and official authorization.
