Appliance Repair in Apple Valley

Between the Apple Valley Transit Station and Lebanon Hills Regional Park, I've been in and out of homes all along Cedar Avenue, Galaxie Avenue, and 140th Street, fixing whatever refrigerator, washer, dryer, or oven decided to act up that day. My 45 years of experience go with me on Apple Valley appliance repair, a steady part of my route.

Homes near Farquhar Lake and out toward the newer developments both call me for the same reason: they want someone who shows up, tells them the truth, and fixes it right the first time.

What Brings Me Out to Apple Valley Homes

Most of my Apple Valley calls begin with something small that got too hard to ignore. Maybe the refrigerator has gone warm, and the milk tastes off, or there's a puddle spreading across the kitchen floor, and nobody can say where it's coming from. Maybe the washer quit draining halfway through a load, or shakes so hard it walks across the laundry room, or the dryer runs for two hours, and the towels still come out damp. Ovens do their share too, whether one won't reach temperature or a burner refuses to light. After 45 years, I know where to look first on all of them, and that saves you money because often the answer is a single worn part, not a new machine.

A gas smell, bare wiring, sparking, or water pooling near an outlet is a safety problem before it's a repair problem. If it's gas, get everyone outside and call 911 or your gas utility from there. For everything else, shut off what you can safely, and call me once things are safe.

Why a Crushed Dryer Vent Is a Big Deal

It's a fire hazard. Lint is highly flammable, and a squashed or clogged vent traps it near a heat source. Blocked vents are a leading cause of dryer fires.

Your dryer runs too hot. Hot air that can't escape builds up inside the machine, which can burn out the thermal fuse, thermostat, or heating element.

Drying takes longer. Damp air has nowhere to go, so one load turns into two cycles, and you spend more time in the laundry room and more on your utility bill.

Your clothes take the punishment. Extra heat shrinks fabric, fades colors, and wears out elastic, and clothes can come out hot to the touch but still damp.

Moisture ends up in your house. Trapped humid air can leave a musty smell, damp walls or windows, and mildew in the laundry room. On a gas dryer, a blocked vent can also push exhaust, including carbon monoxide, back into the home, so keep a working CO alarm nearby.

It's usually a simple fix. Pull the dryer out and look at the duct behind it. Replace a crushed or kinked duct with smooth-walled metal, keep the run as short and straight as you can, and clean the vent at least once a year.

Older Machines, Newer Ones

Apple Valley has plenty of homes where appliances have been running for decades, and those are often worth repairing, since older machines tend to be built simply enough that one new part can bring them back. In newer developments, refrigerators and ranges are more likely to have control boards and sensors, which call for a different kind of patience and a bit more testing before I say what's wrong. Whichever you've got, I look it over, tell you what I find, and let you decide.

How I Handle an Apple Valley Service Call

Reach out by phone or text, and you get me, not a scheduling office. Give me your zip code and describe what's happening, and I'll tell you whether I can fix it and when I can be there. If you have the brand and model number handy, and a rough idea of when the trouble started, that gets me thinking before I even pull out of the shop, but don't put off calling because you can't find the tag. When I arrive, I diagnose first, quote the repair, and begin only after you say go ahead. You pay when the work is done, by cash, check, or card.

Cost and Coverage

The trip out and the diagnosis run $89 flat. If you decide to go ahead, you hear the repair price before I touch a single screw, and evenings and weekends are priced like any weekday. I back the part I install and the labor behind it for a full year.

Worth Fixing, or Time for Something New?

One bad part seldom means the whole appliance is done for, and the repair usually costs well under a replacement. I'll set the cost of fixing yours beside the cost of a new one, so the decision is yours and rests on real numbers. And if it truly isn't worth repairing, you'll hear that from me too.

Apple Valley Appliance Repair FAQ

Do you cover all of Apple Valley? Yes, from the neighborhoods near Cedar Avenue out to the areas bordering Lebanon Hills Regional Park, and everything in between. If you're unsure whether your address is in my area, send me the zip code, and I'll confirm.

Can you come out the same day? Often, yes. Send a text or give me a ring, and I'll go over which times are open today or tomorrow.

What brands do you work on? All the major names, old standbys and newer lines alike. Tell me the make and the model number, and I can say what I'm likely to find.

What does the visit cost? The $89 pays for the drive out and the diagnosis. Any follow-up repair is priced separately, and you'll hear that figure before any work begins.

Do you charge extra for evenings or weekends? No. The $89 service call and repair pricing stay the same no matter when I come out.
